Dean is unbelievable! I’ve NEVER had my teeth cleaned so thoroughly, he spends a lot of time making sure that your teeth are perfect when you leave. Hygienists usually do a 20 minute superficial job when insurance is paying for it, Dean took an hour and my teeth felt and looked amazing.

Dr. Bo’s (Bo MacDonald) office is always friendly. It’s like the TV series, the “Cheers” where everybody knows your name 😍 They provide personal service. Everyone I know who has had the experience with Dr. Bo is so impressed with her “honesty”-per my mom, “very professional and knowledgeable”- my brother-in-law, “ worth the distance for her professional service”- my husband. Yesterday, I went with a cousin visiting from Georgia who had some dental issues. So I called to see if she can tag along to my appointment, and they said, “Sure! My family of 4 have been seeing Dr M and staff- Joann and Dean for 20 years. I chipped a front tooth last week and they got me in the very next day when I called. They got to me right away (as always) and I actually left the office within 1 hour and looked better than when I arrived. The process was not painful, and the repair was perfect. Afterward, I realized, unless it is a front tooth - we don’t really see the beautiful, detailed work that Dr Macdonald does. I am really impressed - even after 20 years. I have had sensitive teeth for as long as I can remember, so I've historically felt very nervous about all dental visits. In the past, many dentists & hygienists have hurt me & either ignored my requests for extra numbing or didn't wait long enough to let gel or Novocain take their full effect. So I'd suffer during treatment and then be numb long after the appointment. Dr. Macdonald is the first dentist in my 57 years of life to numb me with enough topical gel - and then wait for it to take effect, so I don't feel the needle even going in. She is the first dentist to then wait long enough to make sure I am fully numb before she starts working on me. This alone tells me how different she is from the rest. Dr. Macdonald is also the first dentist to ever recommend bonding to address my gum recession and the resulting sensitivity that I'm sure has gotten worse as I have aged. I had no idea that I could even do anything about it until she suggested bonding. And I had no idea how sensitive my teeth had even become til after she bonded several teeth & I noticed how much more comfortable I feel. My friends who referred me all love hygienist Dean, but I haven't had a chance to meet him yet. Dr Macdonald did my cleaning in the first visit I made to her office, and as soon as I met her I could tell I made the right choice switching to her. Joan is helpful, Dr. Macdonald's dental assistant is thorough, and the office is clean and inviting. I wish I had switched from my previous dentist to Dr. Macdonald years ago.

I have been happily seeing Dr. MacDonald & her hygienist Dean for over a decade. A couple months ago, I had some bonding done because I had some gum recession; Dr. MacDonald made my smile look so much fresher! Most recently, I flossed one of my crowns off and there was decay underneath. Dr. MacDonald was very gentle numbing the area and drilling away the decay. She kept putting moisturizer on my lips as she worked on me, which is so nice because I leave every other dentist with cracked lips after dental work. Her dosing of Novocain left me numb just long enough for the work, but not drooling for hours afterwards haha. Dean does the most thorough cleanings of any hygienist I have ever seen - my teeth are noticeably brighter each time I see him, and he helps me with tips to keep my gums healthy. I have referred many friends to this office, & everyone is as happy as I am! My sister even gets her Botox done here, because they are experts with facial muscles. Joan at the front desk is a doll, and Dr. MacDonald's dental assistants are as detailed as she is. Every visit here is comfortable, warm & friendly from the first moment to the last. Both the doctor and the hygienist were thorough in their exams and thoroughly informative throughout the process. I never have to wait compared to all my previous dentist. I get seen right away when I arrive! Let me start by saying Dr. MacDonald and her staff are truly AMAZING! I came to Dr. Bo's a little over two years ago with some major dental issues and in danger of losing some of my teeth. I needed a second opinion and an honest professional who genuinely cared about the welfare of their patients. I had bone loss in my teeth causing them to spread out and creating huge spaces between them. I had gaps that I wasn't born with between both my two front and bottom teeth. Honestly things were so bad my entire smile shifted from it's original position. Dr. Bo and Dean worked together and implemented the right procedures to restore the health of my teeth and I was overjoyed to say the least, but we were just getting started. Dean restored my faith in Hygienist, he's the best. Another attribute to a great Dental practice. The next steps were challenging as I started the Clear Correct treatment to get my smile back on track, and all I can say is that it was well worth it! I was floored at how quickly the teeth were moving during the process, almost like how you'd move chess pieces on a board, it was pure magic! This was encouraging and I was determined to stick to the program as much as possible. Every 3 weeks I was inserting a new set of trays and I saw a change in my smile in 2 months. I mean you could actually see immediate results in the initial stages. Again very encouraging because I was sticking to the program! After a few months the liners were a part of my daily routine like drinking water. I loved going to my follow up appts. with Dr. Bo just to hear her say how great my teeth were coming along, and how she could tell I was wearing my liners for the amount of time needed. Her excitement made me more determined. We are now at the end of my treatment and the gaps are closed, my smile is back on track and I feel absolutely GREAT! I'm getting my teeth whitened this week and a few more adjustments and I'm well on my way to a beautiful smile thanks to Dr. Bo!!!!!!!! I recommend Dr. Bo for any of your dental needs, not only does she have a high tech office with modern technology, the staff is impeccable! Jo Ann and Stephanie are knowledgeable, personable and very warm and welcoming! I look forward to seeing you this week Dr. Bo:) NOTE: If you want the treatment to be successful, you have to be disciplined and wear the liners for the amount of time stated, or stay as close to it as possible. You must floss and brush after every meal and snack leaving no debris behind prior to putting the liners on.

I've been a patient of Dr. MacDonald for over twelve years and I've seen her at least three times per year during that time. Dr. MacDonald and her team are truly professionals with terrific bedside manner. Because of their great service, I've brought in numerous members of my family for their dental work and I will continue to refer new patients. I am so happy I found this office. I am a complete dental chicken, and after years of not going to the dentist, my teeth were a mess. Dr. MacDonald has fixed my problem teeth, and now I even enjoy going to the office for cleanings because it's a chance to catch up with Dean and Joan. The whole staff is extremely friendly and comforting, they work with your insurance and billing, and they never make you feel bad about being a chicken! I highly recommend Dr. MacDonald!

I had my first visit at Dr. Bo Macdonald office this past weekend. I felt so welcomed by every single staff member. Everyone was extremely friendly and attentive. I was most excited to meet Dean, as I had heard great things about him and everything I heard was true! He is so great and explains everything he is doing so well. I left there feeling knowable and in a great mood. Honestly there wasn't a single staff member that didn't greet me or made me feel welcome and that was the best feeling! So hard to find a place these days with genuinely happy employees that provide amazing service.

This place has been like a second home for me! I have 2 phobias Spiders and Dentists... so when I found out I had an autoimmune disease that causes severe dental complications well, I thought the universe had a sick sense of humor. I have been going to Dr. McDonald and Dean for over 9 years. They have worked with me and made adjustments to my care as my Sjogrens related dental issues have rapidly progressed. Love Dr Bo MacDonald! She and Dr Dean make an excellent team. Dean does the cleaning and Dr MacDonald does the general dentistry. I've been a patient of theirs for a few years now and I won't go to another dentist. Joann their office mgr is wonderful, accommodating and easy to work with. Stephanie is the dental assistant who usually works on me and she is fantastic! The care here is genuine and thorough. They do Peri Charts before each cleaning and always educate me about their methods. They have great touches like a 3D scanner for making crowns and a wand camera to take detailed, hi-res photos of your teeth. This is the best dental experience I've ever had and I highly recommend them!

Dr. Bo is very honest. That's her reputation in the industry and I can attest to that. She will tell you what she can do and can't, what her limits are (I needed a specialized route canal and she sent me out to a referral), and she is talented with her hands. She's been doing this a long time so she is seasoned at her skill and you can tell. I hate dental visits. I hate the sound of that drilling tool. I hate the smells and the fear of hearing bad news. But with Dr Bo, I don't hate it anymore. She has a faithful and friendly office manager, Joanne, who has been with her for over ten years, and cool assistants who remember you and even provide emotional support! If you live in Santa Monica or the Westside, I highly recommend Dr. Bo!

I've been with Dr Macdonald for 18 years. Her work is outstanding and always state of the art. Great atmosphere-very upbeat. You want private headphones? Blinders? Change of music? Comfort? All included. I've had friends from out of town just off the plane who needed emergency work and her door is always open. Great staff and Dean is the best cleaning man around.

Last week I cracked a crown on one of my back teeth. Having just moved to LA from San Diego I needed to find a local dentist. My friend Tim Devine recommended Dr Macdonald highly, and effusively, and having been to her office yesterday, I now know why! Bo arranged to see me right away, and I was even able to get a cleaning same day! The staff (Jennifer, Stephanie, Leslie, Joan and Dean) were all very pleasant, and I even got to practice my Spanish with Leslie! Everyone is light hearted, warm, and just really very nice, and obviously are a good team who get along well. My first cleaning with Dean was a very thorough one, and when Bo was removing my old crown she made sure I was feeling ok with the procedure (I usually get really nervous and tense with major dental work). Leslie took her time fitting the temporary crown, and also made sure I was comfortable all the while. The rooms face onto a very well designed atrium area with many nice trees and palms, which also helped make the experience more relaxing. I could seriously go on and on, but I won't...Suffice it to say that from the front office to tooth cleaning and crown replacement, the experience was actually a positive one thanks to Bo and her staff. ! If you need a dentist I would highly recommend their office.

Love love Love this office, and yeah I'm one of those hate to go to the dentist type. I'm turning 37 and my smile is important I'm constantly smiling and after years of casual smoking and drinking soda its began to show. I wanted to pull back some years and dip in the fountain of youth by merely updating my smile. Walked in the office, and off the bat felt at home, it looked like Michael Costello designed it himself. Very feminine but inviting, little waters, a kuerig and a few chocolate covered pastries put me at ease. The girl at the front desk greeted me and not only gorgeous but soooooo nice. I was nervous but the whole staff was just so gentle, the vibe was good throuout the office. Dr. Bo was actually almost a spitting image of her office, beatiful and inviting. Everything was state of the art and she gave me options including botox. I was able to bond and polish my teeth on the spot under an hour which was great. I am terrified of needles but her and Lucy (assistant) provided support and comfort through the process, didn't hurt at all. Overall amazing experience and results exceeded my expectations.

Dean is the Best!!! He takes his time and as he is working on you, he is explaining step by step what he is doing. He is so gentle and makes sure you are comfortable. I love the little goodies at the end they give you, a toothbrush, chap stick, mouth wash, floss, and toothpaste... they really take care of you.

What??? 5-stars for a dentist's office? Yup. What makes her office 5-stars is her top-notch staff. Their huge smiles really make the place welcoming, forget about the treats and the music and the rest of the environment. This office IS the staff. 1st visit - cleaning and whitening treatment went beyond their closing hours, the staff stayed and hung out until I was done! Huge smiles and waves, they weren't even mad bro! Super impressed from the start. 2nd visit - after getting whitening treatment during 1st visit, I noticed that they could use a more robust selection of DVDs to play for their customers. So this visit, I brought them a TON of new/sealed DVDs that whiteners can now choose from. The staff was SUPER appreciative! You're welcome, yelpers. Hygienist Dean ran into me at the desk and remembered me and checked in on what he did last time. WOW I've gotten a first rate experience here. Thanks Dr. Bo and staff!
